Senior Service & UX Designer Consultant

About the position This is a 12-month contract position with the possibility of two additional 1-year extensions. The role is hybrid, requiring 2-3 days onsite per week in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The consultant will be responsible for leading Human-Centred Service Design & User Research projects, UX/UI, Design Systems & Accessibility projects, and Digital Service Delivery & Product Design projects. Responsibilities • Lead Human-Centred Service Design & User Research projects, including discovery, service design, user research, journey mapping, service blueprinting, and research-driven service improvements. • Lead UX/UI, Design Systems & Accessibility projects, including enterprise digital products/platforms, UX/UI artifacts, responsive/mobile-first design, design systems, accessibility/WCAG, and developer handoff. • Lead Digital Service Delivery & Product Design projects, including citizen-facing, partner-facing, or enterprise digital services, complex workflows, digital modernization, and product/service improvement. Requirements • 10+ years of progressive UX, UI, and Service Design experience in complex enterprise environments. • 5+ years supporting digital transformation initiatives within government, public sector, Crown corporations, or comparable environments. • Demonstrated experience through representative projects in Human-Centred Service Design & User Research (including discovery, service design, user research, journey mapping, service blueprinting, research-driven service improvements). • Demonstrated experience through representative projects in UX/UI, Design Systems & Accessibility (including enterprise digital products/platforms, UX/UI artifacts, responsive/mobile-first design, design systems, accessibility/WCAG, developer handoff). • Demonstrated experience through representative projects in Digital Service Delivery & Product Design (including citizen-facing, partner-facing, or enterprise digital services, complex workflows, digital modernization, product/service improvement).
