SECURITY SPECIALIST

You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service: Applying the regulatory guidance outlined in ICD 705, DoDM 5105.21, DoDM 5200.01 in the daily execution of a Command or Agency level Information Security program. Conducting facility and program compliance inspections in accordance with Physical Security and Information Security guidance/policy. Performing functions involved in the development, evaluation, implementation, or execution of information security programs and security education/training Protecting sensitive operations, activities, services, and classified information from exposure to threats and vulnerabilities Serving as a technical authority and primary advisor to senior leadership on organizational security posture, emerging threat landscapes, and strategic risk mitigation strategies. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
