IT SPECIALIST (NETWORK)

I have one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Incumbent will serve as the primary liaison to internal, external, and adjacent agencies for all unified communication/voice related mailers, to include making recommendations regarding expansion/reduction of services, PRI circuits, PSTN circuits, and emerging technologies. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: The incumbent ensures system and application availability 24/7 by overseeing infrastructure management, the maintenance of systems, telephony system planning, installation, operation, and maintenance, technology upgrades, and application and server support. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Works closely with the Infrastructure Lead, Asset Manager, Change Manager, Configuration Manager, Project Managers, Network Operations Security Center - Reserve (NOSC-R) personnel, and Facilities personnel to manage support operations, troubleshoot technical issues, maintain systems, and implement technology upgrades. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Incumbent will work with 25-pair termination of 110 and 66 blocks. Incumbent will contribute to establishing and implementing labeling standards for MDF/IDF copper and fiber optic patch panels. In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector Managing telephony and unified communications systems including: VoIP, analog services, circuit paths, and/or related infrastructure; supporting circuit management, cabling, data center operations, and/or coordination with configuration, change, server, network, customer support, and cybersecurity teams; coordinating infrastructure projects, maintains documentation and COOP readiness.
