Other Duties/ Responsibilities Acts as IT Manager during IT Manager’s absence. Required Work Experience Five to eight years of progressively responsible experience coordinating telecommunications equipment and processes. Required Special Skills/ Knowledge As part of our hiring process, we may conduct a skills assessment to better understand an applicant’s proficiency in key areas relevant to the role. Knowledge of current trends in the operation and configuration of wireless products and services. Knowledge of servers and server policies sufficient to assist with the troubleshooting of service activation issues. Ability to lead and supervise staff, including the ability to prioritize, assign and review the work of assigned staff. Knowledge of modern public procurement inventory control and asset management practices. Ability to program, test and suspend wireless products and services. Desired Qualifications Ability to cultivate effective relationships with SAA employees, vendors, and Senate staff. Ability to work directly with the Wireless Business Analyst on MCS systems and process efficiencies. Working Conditions This position directly supports essential services of the U.S. Senate. As such, this position requires the employee be available and prepared to work during a lapse, in inclement weather, on holidays, weekends, and during late nights to ensure essential services to the Senate continue without interruption. In the context of government furloughs, this position is considered excepted. No exceptional physical demands.
