Staff Software Engineer, Supply Chain Management Technology (all genders)

<h2>About the role: What's in the Box</h2> <p>As a Staff Engineer in our Supply Chain Management organization, you will be responsible for defining, securing, and implementing technical solutions for business problems. You will play a critical role as our systems scale to handle a jump from 1.2 million to over 2.4 million produced boxes per week due to recent software product consolidation. You will look after speeding up development, decision-making, and problem-solving. You will work with our neighboring teams to ensure that our efforts aim to achieve a clearer architecture and boundaries between tech teams to support autonomy. You will communicate directly with our business stakeholders and multiple tech teams supporting local markets. You will report to the Director of Engineering in the Production tribe. This role does not include people management responsibilities.</p> <h2>What you’ll do: The Recipe</h2> <ul> <li>Assume technical leadership within a tribe and own the most challenging tech decisions, including architecture, design, development, deployment, and operational excellence.</li> <li>Support the teams in the architectural design and help to maintain architectural integrity in the scope of the tribe and beyond.</li> <li>Spend a significant portion of your time orchestrating code generation—guiding AI coding agents, rigorously reviewing their implementations, and refining logic based on organization needs.</li> <li>Solve software problems that have visible risks, roadblocks, and constraints. You will navigate an environment that is approximately <strong>70% greenfield development and 30% legacy systems</strong>, managing dependencies, data quality, compliance, and architectural transformations.</li> <li>Mentor more junior engineers by fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.</li> </ul> <h2>What you’ll bring: The Ingredients&nbsp;</h2> <ul> <li>Ideally, 10+ years of engineering experience, including 2+ years in a staff/principal level capacity and technical leadership.</li> <li>Strong capability in working with different stakeholders and experience addressing physical world problems with software solutions.</li> <li>Full-Stack &amp; Agentic Engineering: Deep problem-solving skills and full-stack proficiency (e.g., C#, Python, Golang, and modern frontend technologies). You bring hands-on experience leveraging AI coding agents (Cursor, Copilot, Claude Code) in production, moving beyond basic prompting to master context engineering, workflow decomposition, and the implementation of strict guardrails for reliable agent outputs.</li> <li>Experience with data engineering fundamentals is highly desirable, including expertise in data modeling, governance, quality assurance, and proficiency in data processing and storage systems.</li> <li>Expertise in designing and implementing modular systems, including proficiency in synchronous/asynchronous communication.</li> <li>A team player attitude and a passion for helping others grow through peer-to-peer mentoring, knowledge-sharing sessions, and advocating for best engineering practices, such as CI/CD, TDD, BDD, DDD, and Design Patterns.</li> <li>An agile mindset with the ability to advocate for cross-functional collaboration.</li> </ul> <p>Interacting with front-end developers, designers, product managers and our teams around the world is very much part of our day-to-day, so communication skills are vital.
