Role: Security Engineer – Security Design & Integration Title: AVP Location: Montreal, QC(Day 1 Onsite/Hybrid) – Fulltime Mode of Work: 3 days/week onsite required Required Experience: 5+ years Role Overview The Security Engineer will perform detailed Security Design case work across on‑premises assets as part of a broader integration effort. This role is responsible for reviewing, documenting, and validating security architecture patterns, identifying gaps, and ensuring that inherited environments meet firmwide security standards. The engineer will work closely with architecture, infrastructure, and security governance teams to ensure a consistent, secure posture across all on‑prem assets involved in the integration. Key Responsibilities Security Design Case Work - Review existing on‑premises assets and document Security Design cases, including architecture patterns, data flows, controls, and dependencies. • Identify gaps, risks, and misalignments with firm security standards; recommend remediation actions and design improvements. • Ensure all casework documentation meets required quality, completeness, and auditability standards. Integration Support - Partner with infrastructure, application, and cloud teams to validate design assumptions and ensure accurate representation of inherited environments. • Provide technical guidance on secure‑by‑design principles as legacy systems are integrated into firm environments. • Support alignment of on‑prem assets with enterprise security architecture frameworks. Cross - Team Collaboration - Work closely with Security Architecture, Infrastructure Engineering, Cloud Engineering, and Governance teams. • Participate in design reviews, integration workshops, and remediation planning sessions. • Communicate findings, risks, and recommendations to technical and non‑technical stakeholders. Qualifications - 3- 5 years of experience in security engineering, security architecture, or technical security analysis. • Strong understanding of on‑premises infrastructure, network security, and application security patterns. • Experience performing security design reviews, documenting architecture cases, and identifying control gaps. • Familiarity with enterprise security frameworks and secure‑by‑design principles. • Strong analytical and documentation skills with the ability to translate complex technical environments into structured casework. • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across engineering, architecture, and security governance teams.
