Job Summary
Manages development sprints end-to-end in an Agile environment, from planning through execution and review. The Scrum Master will lead Agile ceremonies, resolve blockers, and drive continuous improvement.
Reporting to the RTE/Director of App Products, this role collaborates with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver customer-focused enhancements and digital reservation tools.
The position supports the Loyalty Product team, specifically the Mobile Bonvoy App, used by millions of customers across 8,000+ hotels and 34 brands.
Candidate Profile
An experienced Scrum Master with a strong background in large, matrixed organizations. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environments and brings deep expertise in Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe).
Education & Experience
Required
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience/certification
• 7+ years of IT experience, including:
• 4+ years in Agile delivery (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe)
• 4+ years collaborating with product and delivery teams
• 4+ years in planning, problem-solving, and presentations
• 2+ years using tools like Jira, Confluence, Clarity, or cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP)
Preferred
• Scrum certifications (CSM, CSP, PMI-ACP)
• SAFe certifications
• Experience working on Agile Release Trains
• Strong facilitation and stakeholder management skills
Core Responsibilities
Agile Delivery & Leadership
• Facilitate Agile ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Review, Retrospective)
• Ensure adherence to Scrum principles and practices
• Manage sprint execution and remove impediments
• Track deliverables and report progress to stakeholders
• Partner with Product Managers on roadmaps and team metrics
• Support dependency management with RTE and cross-functional teams
Coaching & Continuous Improvement
• Coach teams on Agile and Lean practices
• Support backlog management with Product Owners
• Improve team performance through coaching and feedback
• Drive adoption of Agile tools and processes
• Foster collaboration across teams and stakeholders
Skills & Abilities
• Strong leadership, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to translate business needs into actionable tasks
• Excellent communication and time management
• Proficiency in Jira, Confluence, and MS Office
• Ability to work in fast-paced, matrixed environments
