Description
We are seeking a highly proactive, detail-oriented Part-Time Paralegal / Bookkeeper Support Specialist to assist with intellectual property (IP) tasks, billing operations, and account management. This role blends paralegal responsibilities, bookkeeping support, and U.S. account handling, making it ideal for candidates with strong organizational skills, excellent English proficiency, and the ability to work independently.
The candidate will support tasks related to patent documentation, billing workflows, renewals, financial accuracy, and U.S. client account management, while contributing to process improvements and operational efficiency.
Core Responsibilities
Analyze invention disclosures and assist in drafting claims, drawings, and patent applications. Review office actions, prior art, and specifications to support response preparation. Conduct freedom?to?operate searches and analyze patent portfolios. Prepare and file U.S. trademark applications. Perform patentability searches and prepare written analysis. Draft legal correspondence and documentation for patent prosecution. Support bookkeeping tasks including billing, account updates, and financial documentation. Manage U.S. client accounts with high accuracy and attention to detail. Identify process improvement opportunities and contribute ideas for operational efficiency. Collaborate with supervising attorney and participate in workflow integration. Required Experience & Qualifications
Hard Skills
2 years of experience in paralegal, bookkeeping, or related administrative/legal roles. Paralegal background with potential to transition into bookkeeping responsibilities. Experience handling U.S. accounts and working with U.S.-based clients. Knowledge of California law (Good to Have). Strong English proficiency (C1 ) — excellent writing and reading comprehension. High attention to detail and accuracy in legal and financial documentation. Ability to work independently, ask questions when needed, and maintain confidentiality.
