Indefinite appointments may be made permanent at a later date without competition. WHO CAN APPLY: GROUP I - All qualified Male/Female Enlisted Member (E1/PVT - E5/SGT), an Enlisted Member (E1/AB-E5/SSgt) currently employed (permanent) in the Virginia Army/Air National Guard Military Technician Program. GROUP II - All qualified Virginia Army/Air National Guard Male/Female Enlisted Member (E1/PVT - E5/SGT) or an Enlisted Member (E1/AB-E5/SSgt) regardless of employment status (Traditional, Military Technician or AGR). To be considered as a Group II applicant, proof of appointment/enlistment in the Virginia National Guard must be attached if the appointment/enlistment occurred within 60 days prior to, or during, the advertisement period. Military Grades: Enlisted Member (E1/PVT - E5/SGT) or an Enlisted Member (E1/AB-E5/SSgt) GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or training in administrative or clerical experience, education, or training which demonstrates your ability to perform administrative work, as well as experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicant must have at least 12 months of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-06 level, or equivalent pay band in other pay systems in the Federal government. This experience may also have been obtained in the private sector but must demonstrate that it is comparable to the GS grade indicated. This experience must include activities such as: Experience in the interpretation and application of regulations, procedures or laws. Experience that provided a working knowledge of administrative functions. Experience demonstrating the ability to advise lower graded employees. Experience working independently and setting priorities with very little supervisory control.
