Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC) is a Major Command (MAJCOM) of the United States Air Force, established to provide strategic deterrence, global strike, and combat support. Headquartered at Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana, AFGSC commands a vast network of operational units across the United States, including those at Dyess Air Force Base, Texas, which contribute to its mission capabilities. Its primary mission encompasses operating the nation's intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) force and its nuclear-capable bomber fleet. This includes maintaining constant readiness for nuclear deterrence and providing a robust conventional global strike capability. AFGSC ensures the safety, security, and effectiveness of these critical assets, which form two legs of the U.S. nuclear triad, underpinning national security and global stability.
