Headquartered at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia, ACC organizes, trains, equips, and maintains combat-ready air forces for rapid global deployment and employment. Its mission encompasses providing the U.S. and its allies with command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (C4ISR) capabilities, global strike, and air superiority. ACC also plays a vital role in the air defense of North America. The command operates a diverse fleet of aircraft, including fighters, bombers, reconnaissance, electronic warfare, and battle management platforms. While its headquarters is in Virginia, ACC maintains a significant presence at various installations across the globe, including Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Arizona, which hosts units such as the 355th Wing, responsible for A-10 Thunderbolt II close air support operations and combat search and rescue.
